Function of the Tank Heater in the SCR System
The intake manifold (also known as a flap-controlled intake manifold or variable intake manifold) is a key component of the intake system in modern internal combustion engines. It distributes the intake air to the individual cylinders in a flow-optimized manner and, by means of movable intake manifold flaps, dynamically adjusts the effective length of the intake manifold to the current operating conditions. At low RPMs, a long intake path ensures high torque, while at high RPMs, a short intake path enables maximum cylinder filling and thus full engine power.
The intake manifold flaps are controlled by an electric servomotor that regulates the flap position precisely and continuously. This is exactly where our product line comes in: The intake manifold module is delivered complete with an original OE actuator—not a aftermarket replacement. This ensures precise control, full compatibility with the vehicle’s electronics, and OEM-level reliability—all without the need for separate procurement or customization.

We also place particular emphasis on ensuring that the shaft is securely mounted and that the swirl flaps are precision-machined—two critical factors for precise, play-free flap control throughout the entire service life. To this end, every intake manifold module undergoes a 100% final inspection, during which the fit, function, and workmanship of the shaft and flaps are carefully checked—ensuring consistently high quality without compromise.
A malfunction is often caused by a defective or stiff servomotor, worn or worn-out valve bearings, leaks in the module housing, deposits and carbon buildup in the intake manifold that block valve movement, as well as damaged connectors for the control system. The consequences range from rough idling and loss of power to error codes in the engine control unit and even the activation of a limp-home mode with noticeably reduced drivability.
